Refund policy

What can be refunded, what cannot, and how to ask. The short version: a first payment is refundable for fourteen days with no questions asked, renewals are not, and you can cancel at any time to stop the next one.

Who you are buying from

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for every purchase. Lemon Squeezy is therefore the seller on the invoice and the name that appears on your bank statement, and it is Lemon Squeezy that collects any applicable tax and issues any refund.

You do not have to pay to evaluate the service

The free plan requires no card and carries a real monthly quota. It exists so the API can be tested against your own traffic, with your own addresses, before any money changes hands. Using it first is the best protection against needing a refund at all.

Fourteen days on a first payment

The first payment on a paid plan is refunded in full if you ask within fourteen days of that payment. No justification is required and no reason has to be given.

This mirrors the statutory right of withdrawal that consumers have in the European Union. Rather than asking who qualifies for it, the same fourteen days are offered to every customer, business accounts included.

Renewals

A renewal is not refunded, because the period it pays for has already been made available to you. Cancelling is immediate and self-service: the next renewal simply does not happen, and the plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Nothing is lost by cancelling early.

There is no overage billing to be refunded either. You are never charged more than the plan you chose: when the quota is exhausted, requests are refused until the period resets.

How to ask

Write from the address on the account, using the contact page, and say which payment you mean. One person reads these, and a refund inside the fourteen days does not need to be argued for.

The refund itself is issued by Lemon Squeezy and can take up to ten days to appear on your statement, which is the card networks' timing rather than ours.

If a request is not resolved here, Lemon Squeezy can be contacted directly as merchant of record, using the receipt they sent you. Please try the contact page first, since a chargeback raised without asking costs both sides more than a refund would have.

Exceptions

No refund is given where an account was suspended for breaching the acceptable use section of the terms, such as reselling the API or attempting to circumvent quotas. This is the only exception, and it does not apply to an account that simply stopped being useful to you.
